Assouline at Hamilton Home
Assouline was founded in Paris in 1994 by Prosper and Martine Assouline, who set out to publish books on culture, travel and style that were objects in their own right. The volumes are large, clothbound or linen-cased, printed on heavy stock and filled with photography. They are meant to be left out on a table and opened often, and a stack of them has become a fixture of a well-dressed room.
Hamilton Home keeps a rotating shelf of Assouline titles, with a lean toward the places our clients know. Palm Beach, Miami Beach and Hamptons Private cover the coasts; Lake Como Idyll, Greek Islands and London Chic and New York Chic cover the cities and lakes people return to. Cocktail Chameleon belongs beside the bar, James Bond Cars suits a collector, The Book of Iconic Bags suits a reader of fashion, and Chic Dogs, Mother and Child and Father and Child are given for the occasions their titles suggest. An Assouline book is the gift for a host, a graduate, a new homeowner, or anyone whose taste you know but whose size you do not.
The books are on the shelves in Princeton and Palm Beach, and you are welcome to page through them. Book an appointment and our team will help you choose a title or pair a book with a frame or a bar piece. Every order is gift wrapped.
