Hamilton Watch Co. at Hamilton Jewelers
A note on the name first: Hamilton Watch Company is a watch brand, and Hamilton Jewelers is our family store, founded in Princeton in 1912. We share a name and nothing else, though we have sold their watches for decades. The Hamilton Watch Company was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1892 and built its reputation on railroad pocket watches accurate enough to keep trains apart. It supplied the U.S. military through both world wars, made the first electric watch in 1957 and the Ventura that Elvis Presley wore, and has appeared in hundreds of films. Production moved to Switzerland in the 1970s, and the brand is now part of the Swatch Group, based in Biel.
Hamilton Jewelers stocks the brand's main collections. The Khaki Field is the military-style field watch, here in hand-wound Mechanical, Automatic, Titanium and Bronze versions and the Murph made famous by the film Interstellar. The Khaki Navy covers dive watches including the Scuba, and the Khaki Aviation includes the Pilot and the oversized XXL. The Jazzmaster is the dress line, including the Open Heart with its exposed balance and ladies' automatics, and the American Classic revives historic designs such as the Boulton. These are honest Swiss mechanical watches at approachable prices, and a Khaki Field is a classic first automatic.
Visit our Princeton or Palm Beach salons to try the Khaki and Jazzmaster lines on, or book an appointment and our team will have the sizes you are considering ready. Every order is gift wrapped, and our team can help you choose a model for a graduation, a birthday or a first good watch.
