Ginori 1735 at Hamilton Home
Ginori 1735 is the porcelain manufactory founded by Marquis Carlo Ginori at Doccia, just outside Florence, in 1735. It is one of the oldest in Europe still operating, and its archive of molds and patterns runs back to the eighteenth century. The architect Gio Ponti served as its artistic director in the 1920s, and the house has worked with designers ever since. The porcelain is fine, white and hand-decorated, often with gold.
Hamilton Home carries Oriente Italiano, the house's best-known contemporary pattern, in the full run of colors: Iris, Pervinca, Azalea, Malachite, Porpora, Albus and Aurum. The dinner plates, dessert plates, tureen and cake plate build a table, and the round boxes, trinket boxes and change trays make gifts that fit in a hand. Il Viaggio di Nettuno, a sea-blue and pink series with mythological figures, covers boxes, trays and vases. The Florenza vases and boxes, the Meringa trinket box and the Orange Renaissance scented candle complete the selection. Ginori suits a wedding registry, a housewarming or a hostess gift with some weight to it.
The colors of Oriente Italiano are hard to judge from a screen, and we keep the pattern on display in Princeton and Palm Beach. Book an appointment and our team will help you mix the colorways, register for a pattern, or pick a single box or tray as a gift. Every order is gift wrapped.
