Montblanc at Hamilton Jewelers
Montblanc was founded in Hamburg in 1906 and introduced the Meisterstück fountain pen in 1924. The pen, black resin with gold trim and a white star on the cap, has been in continuous production since and remains the piece most people picture when they hear the name. The writing instruments are still finished in Hamburg, the leather goods in Florence, and the watches in Switzerland, at the maison's workshops in Le Locle and Villeret.
Hamilton Jewelers carries Montblanc across all three. For the desk there is the Meisterstück in Classique and the large 149 fountain pen in gold- or platinum-coated trim, the StarWalker in resin and metal, the Heritage Rouge et Noir with its serpent clip, and the Great Characters and Writers special editions that change each year. Sartorial card holders, pen pouches and notebooks round out the leather. From the watch side, the 1858 Iced Sea divers and the Star Legacy chronographs and day-date models are in the case. A Montblanc pen is a standard gift for a graduation, a promotion or a retirement, and the notebooks and card holders make smaller ones.
Pens are best chosen by writing with them, and the full range is laid out in Princeton and Palm Beach. Book an appointment and our team will help you compare nib sizes, pick a rollerball over a ballpoint, or choose a watch. Every order is gift wrapped.
