Montblanc Watches at Hamilton Jewelers
Montblanc is best known for the Meisterstück pen, but its watchmaking has deep roots. In 2006 the maison took over Minerva, the Villeret manufacture founded in 1858 that built chronographs and timers for more than a century. Montblanc watches are made in Switzerland, at the Minerva workshops in Villeret and the maison’s manufacture in Le Locle, and much of the current range draws on Minerva’s history of instruments for pilots and mountaineers.
Hamilton Jewelers carries three Montblanc watch families. The 1858 collection takes its look from Minerva’s vintage field and mountaineering watches, with the 0 Oxygen models sealed without oxygen inside the case to prevent fogging and slow oxidation at altitude, and the Geosphere showing world time across two hemispheres. The Iced Sea is a 300-meter dive watch with a dial made by freezing the texture of glacier ice, including the Deep 4810 with its depth gauge. The Star Legacy line is the dressier side, with day-date, moonphase and Nicolas Rieussec chronograph models that nod to classic watchmaking.
