Laurent Ferrier at Hamilton Jewelers
Laurent Ferrier is an independent Geneva watchmaker founded in 2010 by Laurent Ferrier, the son and grandson of watchmakers, after a long career in technical design at a major Geneva manufacture and a third-place finish at Le Mans in 1979. The company's first watch, the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral, won the men's watch prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2010. Laurent Ferrier is known for its smooth pebble-shaped cases, its hand-finished movements, including a micro-rotor automatic with a natural escapement, and for producing only a few hundred watches a year.
Hamilton carries Laurent Ferrier across the Classic, Square and Sport families. The Classic includes the Origin and Moon models and the Galet Micro-Rotor. The Square Micro-Rotor is the cushion-cased version in Evergreen and Retro Silvery White dials. The Sport Auto is the steel sports watch on an integrated bracelet, and the Grand Sport Tourbillon is the top of the range. This is a maker for collectors who already know the major houses and want something quieter and rarer, finished to a level few brands attempt.
Laurent Ferrier watches are best understood in hand, where the case shape and movement finishing can be seen properly.
