Jewelry & Watch Buying

A Trusted Name for Over a Century

Since 1912, families in Princeton and Palm Beach have turned to Hamilton when it is time to part with a piece, whether a watch that is no longer worn, an inherited collection, or a diamond ready for a new chapter.

Every offer is prepared by a Hamilton gemologist or watch specialist, explained in plain terms, and yours to accept or decline. Sell outright, trade toward something new, or ask about consignment.

Jewelry Buying FAQ

What does Hamilton buy?

Fine Swiss timepieces, diamonds, fine jewelry, antique and estate pieces, and gold and platinum. If you are unsure whether a piece qualifies, bring it in; our specialists are happy to take a look.

How is my offer determined?

A Hamilton gemologist or watch specialist examines each piece in front of you, considering the stones, metal, maker, condition and current market, and explains how the offer was reached. There is no obligation to accept.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome at any location, but an appointment guarantees a private room and the right specialist for what you are bringing, which is especially helpful for watches and larger collections.

Can I trade toward something new instead of selling?

Yes. The value of your piece can be applied toward any purchase at Hamilton, and we can also discuss consignment for pieces that may do better over time.

What should I bring with me?

Any original boxes, papers, laboratory reports, warranty cards or receipts you have. They are not required, but they can support the value of a piece, particularly for watches.

Is the process confidential?

Completely. Every consultation takes place privately, and your information is never shared.
